Grace while Driving

by Natasha

Before I continue, I must point out that driving is not one of my favorite activities. I’ve gotten a lot better about it, to where I currently drive 45 minutes to 1 hour drive each way to get to work. Nonetheless, it is not something I usually look forward to doing.

It was a bright and sunny morning, and I was driving to work. I saw that the next light had just turned yellow and it was only a few yards away. I considered slowing down, but on impulse decided to go for it. The light turned red as soon as I reached the stop line, but I kept on driving. When I got half way across the intersection, I noticed 2 cop cars were in the process of making a U-turn. The right thing to have done would have been to slow down and let them go… but my foot had other plans. Before I knew it, I was pushing on the gas and going faster, forcing the cops to stop turning. As soon as I passed the cop cars, I thought to myself, “Oh crap, what have I done?…”

Both cop cars turned into my lane and started following me. My heart was pounding and I kept thinking, “I’m gonna get a ticket, I’m gonna get a ticket, I’m gonna get a ticket…” Then suddenly, for reasons I still don’t understand, both cop cars moved to the right lane and went about their business.

Thank God for Grace.

I’m guessing next time, you’ll move that foot to the brake pedal, and stop at the yellow light.

You were lucky…this time.

Be careful, and drive safe.

Hahaha! Nice story. I hate seeing cops when I’m driving… don’t get me wrong. I’m not a reckless driver. I follow road rules. But you’ll understand what I’m saying when you’ve experienced getting pulled over by cops in my country… *sigh*

Yes I was or maybe it was just grace being handed to me… One of those times where you get something good that you don’t deserve. Thanks for your comment. 🙂
