New Years Greeting & Changes to this Site

Let me start by saying, “Happy New Years Everybody! May 2008 bring you much joy, blessings and laughter.”

Now on to the changes. I’m constantly thinking of how I can improve the flow of this site and the user/reader experience. For that reason, I’ve made the following updates:

  1. I removed the long colorful buttons that once lived beneath the subscription form. I replaced them with cuter and smaller square buttons.
  2. I enhanced this site with Snap Shot. Just in case you’re not familiar with it, Snap Shot enhances links with a visual preview of the destination site. In this way, you get a sneak peek to where a link will lead, without having to leave the site.
    If you should decide that you’re not into this Snap Shot feature, just click on the Options icon and select “Disable”. Cool huh?
  3. Last, I removed the the 125×125 ads, in exception for the World Vision and Second Life banners. I’ve decided that I’m going to create a Links Page, where I’ll list cool resources, quality products and services that I believe are worth promoting.

Wow, that's a great idea. I didn't even think to add the links in my horizontal menu to the bottom of the page as well. As for selling my art, I considered it, but never got around to taking high rez shots of some of the pieces. I'll make that one of my things to do over the weekend. Thanks for all the suggestions. :)

That snapshot really looks nice! You should add that portfolio link at the bottom as well. That way people can see your work at the top AND at the bottom. Have you considered creating and selling some of your work on sites like Shutterstock, Fotolia, Dreamstime & others? You can create illustrations for them, load them up on their sites and they pay you when they sell the pieces to different agencies/individuals/etc. Excellent work!
