A friend from work suggested I watch an interview that Oprah had with
Jon Kabat-Zinn and the interview was awesome. During their conversation,
the following poem was mentioned and all I can say is, “Wow”.
Very simple, yet profound. Enjoy.

Love After Love
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

Greetings, Natasha! Just navigated my way over here from a raw food site, found this awesome poem here, and experienced the grooviest deja vu!! This very poem was printed in the “Live Your Best Life” section of the 2004 March issue of O Magazine, and I was so touched by it then that I clipped and kept it (which is why I can so easily give the date)! Lovely, isn’t it?…Blessings, Ventress

Hi Ventress, welcome and thanks so much for stopping by. Wow, very cool. Oprah did say that this is one of her favorite poems of all time, and it is fast becoming one of my favorites. Thanks again.
